Following on from our part one article, here are the further topics we discussed in our interview with Feras Karam from Pharmacy 4 Less. Our aim is to better understand the significant impacts of the new 60DD laws and how this effects Pharmacies and customers.
We were interested to find out how the 5-year agreement between Pharmacies and the Government will be impacted, how the next few months will play out, what are the cost implications for customers and to better understand the community side of Pharmacies due to the new 60DD laws.
Here are the key highlights from this interview:
6. Gov’t changes the rules 60% of the way through
60DD is a major change to the seventh day 5-year agreement between Pharmacies and the government. Therefore, Pharmacies are losing faith in the government’s decision-making. We discussed this in our recent interview with Feras Karam from Pharmacy 4 Less.
7. How will the next three months in Pharmacy play out?
Sept 1st the first medications in the 60DD are due to roll out and Pharmacists are going to be more active in voicing their opinions on this change prior to this date as it will greatly affect their livelihoods. We discussed this with Feras Karam from Pharmacy 4 Less in our recent interview with him.
8. The real cost to produce a “free” Webster pack
In our interview with Feras Karam from Pharmacy 4 Less we discuss the actual cost of“free” webster packs that are currently handed out. While customers will have savings on some scripts they may now have to pay for these packs.
9. People underestimate the community side of Pharmacy
Feras Karam from Pharmacy 4 Less explains some of the extra community services that Pharmacies provide that the public don’t see. Some of this free care will be lost with the new 60DD laws as Pharmacists won’t have to the time to give this extra support or services.
